Regional accrediting commissions are among the oldest accrediting organizations in the country. The United States is divided into six accreditation regions: New England, Middle States, North Central, Southern, Western and Northwest. Seven accrediting commissions operate in these regions. All regional accrediting commissions review entire institutions, as opposed to programs or schools within institutions.
Excelsior University is a private online university in Albany, New York. Excelsior is a regionally accredited University that was established in 1971. It is known for its flexible, online undergraduate and graduate degrees and comprises three schools: the School of Undergraduate Studies, the School of Graduate Studies, and the School of Nursing.
Excelsior University is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Its bachelor's and master's nursing programs are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, Inc. (ACEN). Its baccalaureate degree programs in electrical engineering technology, information technology, and nuclear engineering technology are accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, Inc. Ana G. Mendez University is a regionally accredited institution which offers a university education of excellence through their on-campus and online program.
The Ana G. Mendez private university system was established in 1941 and has 11 campuses between Puerto Rico and the United States. It operates four campuses in the State of Florida as well as an online campus that offers a wide range of academic offerings in Spanish, English and Bilingual across various modalities.
